The Serial/IP Redirector

Latest Help File Download

You can download the latest version of this document and replace the version currently displayed when you use Help in the Serial/IP Redirector.

To update the installed on-line help file

  1. Click here to initiate a download of the latest help file.      

  2. Save the .chm file to a temporary location.

  3. Print these instructions so that you can refer to them as you proceed.

  4. Close all Serial/IP help windows.

  5. Rename the file you downloaded to index.chm.

  6. Double-click index.chm to open it. If the initial page does not display properly, you are running a version of Windows with an Attachment Manager that marked index.chm as an "untrusted file" when it was downloaded. To fix this problem:

    1. Right-click the file index.chm, then click Properties.

    2. Click Unblock.

    3. Click OK.

  7. Drag index.chm to the html folder in the Serial/IP software installation folder. The standard location is:

    C:\Program Files\Tactical Software\    SerialIP\html\index.chm

  8. Subsequent uses of the help file will display the new version.
