Hyundai Motors: Remote monitoring solution for UPS system |
|
|
Hyundai
Motors, the largest automaker in Korea, decides to
manage their UPS system with Sena UPSLink, to provide
efficient power protection and UPS management. Earlier
UPS system had been managed by way of PCs and serial lines
from management office. For cost-savings, simplicity and
efficiency, Hyundai established a direct management system
over the UPS system through the TCP/IP network using UPSLink
instead of existing serial line solution. UPSLink enables
UPS management on compatible management stations such
as HP OpenView, Novell Managewise and IBM NetView.
As IT managers keep growing their networks and systems,
networking solutions that can scale up with such growth
are preferable for power protection equipment. SNMP equipped
UPSLink gives scalable solution to your UPS systems.

Web/SNMP card for UPS Management: UPSLink solution |
|
|
With the rapid growth of servers, workstations,
telecommunication switching centers, and other centralized,
large computing operations, the need for extremely
large power solutions is on the rise. As a result,
backup solutions for these devices are becoming
an integral part of today's computer and communication
networks.
|
|
The UPS market growth has been fueled by the recent revolution
in information technology and the need to safeguard data,
processes, and servers. At the same time, management of
UPS power backup equipment has become a critical function
of the whole backup task and should be paid as much attention
as specifying proper UPS systems for any application.
|
To meet the demanding power
protection needs of enterprise systems, Sena
Technologies has introduced 'UPSLink', an SNMP
communication device that allows UPS monitoring and
management from virtually anywhere in the world via Web
browser or telnet connection. |

Web management interface of UPSLink displays
UPS information in the form of bar charts, and digital
values for critical UPS data including mains voltage,
UPS load and battery charge percentage. The graphical
display also provides detailed information on a wide range
of UPS parameters, and offers users all the information
they need for first level diagnostics. Users can respond
to such messages as temperature and battery drain to maximize
protection of their systems.
Having the ability to know when a UPS switches to battery
power in a remote location can be very useful. Sena has
designed this product line to offer flexible power protection
for a wide variety of different applications like workstations,
network bridges, hubs, routers, telephone systems, and
large servers.
UPS Manufacturers, and System Integrators
can take the benefit of SNMP equipped UPSLink which has
the support of advanced features such as Customization,
Multi-language support to provide the scalable, and cost-effective
solution to UPS systems.
